Aiosell vs Pace Revenue: How Each Prices Your Rooms

6 min read

Pace is a London-based revenue management system aimed mostly at independent hotels and hostels. Its big idea is to lean on your own booking data and not on what other hotels are charging. Aiosell takes a mixed approach, using your own occupancy plus outside signals like competitor rates and events. Both are trying to answer the same question, what should this room cost tonight, but they get there by different roads, and the road matters depending on where your hotel sits. A quick note on sources. The Pace details here come mainly from a Hotel Tech Report article last updated in January 2022, so features, integrations and prices may have changed. Check them with Pace. The same goes for anything Aiosell says about itself. The Aiosell details come from aiosell.com. I’ll point out where I’m unsure. If a detail matters to your decision, confirm it on a call before you plan around it.

How Pace decides a price

According to that article, Pace connects to your PMS and studies your performance, reservations and booking pace, then simulates variables like demand, price sensitivity, room type and date to find the price that should maximize RevPAR. Recommendations update hourly, and the forecast adjusts whenever something changes, such as occupancy or bookings after a rate move. There’s a calendar for comparing pricing strategies, a segmentation view, and an events module that flags local happenings that might shift demand. Because it relies on your own data, it suits properties that don’t fit neatly beside traditional competitors, like hostels or unusual boutique stays. That’s a real strength. It means the tool is judging your demand, not guessing from hotels that don’t look like yours. It also means the system needs enough history to learn from, so ask how it treats a new or recently renovated hotel. Some tools borrow data from similar hotels to get started, and some just ask you to be patient for a few weeks.

How Aiosell decides

Aiosell’s revenue management system uses internal signals, like occupancy, booking window, day, month, and time, and external ones, like competitor rates, market demand, and event calendars. Its page suggests a rough 70/30 weighting between internal and external inputs, though that’s presented as general guidance, not a fixed setting. Each room is priced on a linear occupancy scale, rates use real-time occupancy from the last 48 hours of bookings, and you can add adjustments by weekday, month, date, or season. You set a minimum and a maximum for each room and rate plan, and date-specific overrides beat the yearly setup. If your market has real comparable competitors, that outside data is a useful check on the model. If it doesn’t, you can lean on your own numbers. Either way, you should be able to see what the tool is doing, and change the mix if the market data looks wrong.

Hostels, beds and unusual properties

Pace is described as strong in hostels because it can price beds as well as rooms, and Generator Hostels is named as a client. That’s a clear fit. Aiosell serves hotels from small guesthouses to 5-star properties, and it has a vacation rental plan where a unit can be a hostel with no more than 5 rooms or beds, plus conditions about multiple units under one brand, separate entrances and no front desk, daily housekeeping or room service. So a large hostel with a staffed reception probably isn’t what that plan was designed for. If beds are your main product, ask Aiosell directly how it would price them and show you on a trial before you assume anything. It’s better to hear a clear no than to find out after setup. The same goes for dorm and private room mixes. If you sell both, ask how they’d be priced against each other.

Integrations, minimums and cost

The Hotel Tech Report article lists Pace integrations with Mews, Opera through SiteMinder Exchange, apaleo and Protel. It offers a free one-month trial, then a monthly subscription based on rooms or beds, with a €300 minimum monthly commitment and custom quotes per property. Treat all of that as dated. Aiosell works with a PMS, a channel manager or both, or runs as an all-in-one platform with its own channel manager, and Revenue Pro is $7 per room per month up to 10 rooms, $6 for 11 to 30, $5 for 31 to 50 and $4 above that. A 20-room hotel would pay about $120 a month, with the channel manager, booking engine and reviews tools included. The pricing page has the current figures. Also ask Pace whether the minimum applies to a hotel of your size, since a small property may pay the minimum whatever its room count.

Which way should you lean?

If your hotel is a hostel or has few true competitors, and you already use a PMS Pace supports, take the free month seriously and see how it behaves. If you want pricing, distribution, and the rest of your operation in one login, or you want something priced by room without a minimum, give Aiosell’s trial a go. In both cases, run the test over a normal month, not your busiest week. Compare RevPAR and ADR with the same period last year, and track how many times you override the system. If you’re overriding every other day, something about the setup or the tool isn’t fitting, and that’s worth fixing early. Don’t switch tools just because of one odd price. Look at the pattern over a few weeks first.

Aiosell’s pricing tool sits next to the property management system, channel manager, and booking engine, so new rates reach every site without anyone retyping them. The company says its AI pricing can lift revenue by around 30%, and one client reports 20 to 50%, which are their claims, not a guarantee for your hotel. The 15-day free trial is the cheap way to see whether the suggestions make sense. Ask Pace for the same kind of trial, and decide on what you see. That’s the only way to compare two systems that think about pricing so differently.
