Aiosell vs Little Hotelier: Which PMS Fits a Small Hotel?

6 min read

If you run a small hotel or a guesthouse, you’ve probably ended up with two names on your shortlist: Little Hotelier and Aiosell. Both promise one login for your bookings, your rates, and your front desk. On paper, they look close. In practice, they’re built around slightly different ideas, and that difference shows up a few months after you sign, not during the demo. I’m not going to crown a winner here, because it really depends on your property. What I can do is show where each one is strong, where you might feel some friction, and what to ask before paying anything. Everything about Little Hotelier below comes from public listings and review sites, so check their current plans yourself. For Aiosell, I’ve used what’s on the website. Give this ten minutes, then test both with a free trial instead of trusting any comparison, including this one.

Who each one is really built for

Little Hotelier belongs to SiteMinder and is made for small accommodation, mostly B&Bs, inns, guesthouses and small hotels. Third-party listings put the sweet spot at roughly 1 to 30 rooms, and one review site says it serves over 7,000 properties. That focus is a good thing. Setup is usually quick, and the screens stay simple, because the person using them is often the owner. Aiosell is a cloud-based hotel management software that covers a wider spread: 5-star hotels, 3-star hotels, hostels, and short-term rentals, with 2,500+ hotels in 70+ countries according to its own site. So the question isn’t which one is better. It’s which one matches where your business will be in two or three years. If you’re a six-room guesthouse that will stay a six-room guesthouse, either can work. If you’re thinking about a restaurant, a second property or 20 more rooms, the wider product starts to matter.

What’s actually inside the box

Little Hotelier bundles a front desk, calendar, channel manager, and a direct booking page, plus a mobile app. Guest engagement and a website builder come as add-ons. One reviewer on Capterra said they wished it had a housekeeping module, which is worth noting if you have a team cleaning 15 rooms a day. Aiosell’s list is longer. Besides the property management system itself, you get a hotel channel manager, a booking engine with Google links, a revenue management system, point of sale, housekeeping and maintenance, purchase and inventory, accounting, HR, CRM, and banquets. You don’t have to buy all of it, since modules can be taken separately. But it’s there when you need it, and the data sits in one place. That’s the real benefit of the all-in-one idea. A restaurant bill lands on the guest folio without anyone retyping it, and the housekeeping board updates the moment someone checks out.

Pricing: look past the first number

Third-party sources say Little Hotelier starts around £25 a month and is priced in tiers by property size. The same source warns that some things, like payment processing and metasearch connectivity, cost extra, so your final bill can end up higher than the headline. Aiosell publishes its prices, which makes comparing easier. Per property per month, the Lite Hotel plan (channel manager, PMS and booking engine) is $40 for up to 10 rooms, or ₹2,400 if you pay in rupees. For a 12-room hotel, Revenue Pro works out to about $72 a month at $6 a room, and Operations Pro about $48 at $4 a room. There’s also a variable option on the All in One plan, which is 3.5% of online bookings only. Setup is a one-time $50. My advice is simple. Write down every feature you need, ask each vendor for a full quote with those features and payments included, and compare the two totals instead of the starting prices.

Pricing intelligence and room to grow

Here’s where they start to feel different. Review-site comparisons say Little Hotelier’s pricing and revenue tools are fine for basic decisions but lighter than a dedicated revenue system, and some reviewers say they eventually outgrew it. Aiosell has its own dynamic pricing built in through its revenue management system. One long-time client, a hotel consultancy, says the pricing updates several times a day and has helped them reach 20 to 50% higher revenue. Treat that as their claim and not a promise, because your market will give different results. Still, if revenue is what you want help with, ask both vendors to show the pricing screen using data from your own city. Look at the booking engine as well. Aiosell reviewers on Hotel Tech Report like the integration but call the booking engine design basic, and one Little Hotelier reviewer complained about being moved to a different booking engine. Both have weak spots. Better to know before you commit.

How to pick, and where Aiosell fits

Make a short list of five things you can’t live without. For most small hotels, it looks something like channel sync with the big OTAs, a decent direct booking page, simple reports, housekeeping, and support that answers the same day. Then run the free trial for both. Aiosell gives you 15 days. Put in your real rooms, your real rates, even a few fake bookings, and see how long routine tasks take. Try a messy day on purpose: a cancellation, a room swap, and a late arrival, all inside the same hour. That’s closer to real life than any demo script. Call support once with a silly question and notice who picks up. Also ask both vendors how they handle a bad day, like an OTA connection dropping on a Friday evening, because small hotels rarely have anyone technical on staff to sort it out. The honest answer, and how fast it comes, tells you plenty about the company. If you’re a small property that wants a light tool and plans to stay small, Little Hotelier is a reasonable fit. If you want your property management system, channel manager, and pricing in one place, with space to add a POS or a second property later, Aiosell deserves a close look. Either way, don’t decide on price alone. Start the 15-day trial with Aiosell and judge it by how your team feels after the first week.
