This 252-rooms business hotel is located near Bangalore’s Electronics city. The property has easy access to IT & manufacturing hubs and is ideal for business travelers. The hotel has a plush spa, a rooftop pool and an award-winning restaurant serving delectable food.
The hotel’s director, Nitin Rajendran was concerned with the hotel’s low occupancy. Despite having a good share of corporate business (more than 50%), the management was still not able to fill up 252 rooms even during high demand period. The hotel was also associated with the Oyo aggregator for online business, but that resulted in steep discounting and very low rates, which started impacting the contracted corporate rates also. The management was looking for a solution which will ensure that the hotel’s occupancy increases without compromising the ADRs and the share of corporate business.
The hotel was one of the early users of Aiosell’s full stack revenue management product & services as early as 2018. Aiosell team first helped the hotel in cleaning up the OTA positioning of the hotel, aligning all content, photographs and rate plans to ensure that it was inline with overall marketing strategy.
The
automated dynamic pricing system ensured prices changed multiple times a day systematically, however ensuring a minimum threshold rate that was never breached. The pricing strategy ensured that weekday rates were kept higher than corporate rates, while the weekend rates were allowed to fall to pick up leisure and FIT business, which comprised a very low share of business earlier.
The online business for the hotel was earlier restricted to only a few OTAs, but after Aiosell’s 360 degree approach, the share of business was equally distributed across several OTAs. Aiosell also managed to shift 15% of its business to Aiosell’s booking engine connected to hotel website, thereby saving the total commissions paid to online travel agents.
