Aiosell vs Duetto: Hotel RMS Compared Plainly

6 min read

Duetto is best known for open pricing. It calls itself a revenue strategy platform for hotels and casinos, and its site says more than 2,000 properties in over 60 countries use its apps. Aiosell is smaller and built differently, with pricing sitting next to the PMS, channel manager, and booking engine in one login. If you’ve typed “Duetto vs Aiosell” into Google, you’re probably trying to work out which one is overkill for your hotel and which one might leave you short. Fair enough. I’ll go through it in the order I’d ask questions on a demo. A note on sources: Duetto details come from its own pages and industry listings; Aiosell details come from aiosell.com. Neither publishes a full price list in what I read for Duetto, so cost needs a call. I’d also keep in mind that both companies change their plans, so treat every number here as a starting point for your own questions.

What open pricing really means

Duetto’s flagship app, GameChanger, sets prices for each segment, channel and room type separately and in real time. Instead of one rate with discounts hanging off it, every combination of who is buying, where they’re buying and which room they want gets its own number. That’s powerful if you have the data and someone who can read it. It’s also more to manage. Aiosell works from a base rate per room type and rate plan, with other rooms and plans linked by a fixed amount or a percentage. Prices then move on a linear occupancy scale, with weekday, month and date adjustments on top. The tree is simpler. You can see where a price came from without a training course. Neither approach is right in general. It depends on how many segments you really sell to and whether anyone will look after them. A hotel that sells mostly to leisure guests through two OTAs and its own website might never use the finer slicing. A casino hotel with corporate, group, loyalty and package business probably will.

The extra modules around pricing

Duetto sells more than one app. ScoreBoard handles reporting and forecasts that you can share across a company. PlayMaker changes the booking path, with rates, room sort order, packages and upsells for known and unknown guests. BlockBuster prices group and contracted business more dynamically, so sales and revenue teams work from the same numbers. That’s a deep commercial toolkit, and it makes sense for casinos and bigger hotels with separate sales and revenue teams. Aiosell goes wide in a different direction. Besides the pricing tool, you get a hotel channel manager, a booking engine and website with Google links, reviews management, point of sale, housekeeping, accounting and more, and you can buy modules separately. Not every hotel wants that, and some already have a restaurant system they like. So the real choice is depth in revenue strategy or breadth across daily operations.

Who ends up running it

Duetto’s own pages speak mostly to revenue management teams. If you have someone like that, and they want to slice demand by segment and see a proper scoreboard, the platform gives them room to work. Aiosell is easier for a general manager or owner who doesn’t want to learn segmentation. You set a minimum and maximum price for each room and rate plan, choose a booking window anywhere from 7 days to 2 years, add adjustments for conferences, weddings, or long weekends, and override any date by hand. Lower-category rooms can even be overbooked automatically to move inventory around. That’s a lot of control without a lot of vocabulary. Whichever you lean toward, ask who in your hotel will open the system every morning, because a clever tool nobody checks is just a bill. Be realistic about it. If the person who set it up leaves next spring, can someone else pick it up in a week?

Cost, contracts and proof

I couldn’t find Duetto prices on the pages I read, so you’d need a quote, and I’d ask for setup, training and any module fees in writing. Its site cites a 6.5% RevPAR Index lift for GameChanger users, but that figure is from 2016, so ask for newer numbers from hotels like yours. Aiosell publishes pricing. Revenue Pro, which includes the channel manager, booking engine, and reviews tools, runs from $7 per room per month for small hotels down to $4 for larger ones, and the pricing tool alone is a $5 per room add-on, all listed on the pricing page. Aiosell also says its AI pricing can raise revenue by about 30%. Treat that as marketing until you’ve tested it, the same way you’d treat any vendor’s best-case slide. What counts is what happens to your own RevPAR over a few months, measured against the same months a year earlier.

Questions worth asking both vendors

Ask Duetto how long it takes to go live, which PMS connections you’d use, and who maintains the segment setup afterwards. Ask Aiosell how competitor rates are weighted for your market, and what you can adjust yourself. Ask each one to show a rate change travelling from the pricing screen to an OTA, and time it. Ask for two references from hotels about your size, and ask those hotels what went wrong in the first month. Then run both on the same rooms for a few weeks if you can. Compare the suggested prices with what you would have charged, and check RevPAR against the same period last year. Keep a log of overrides. It tells you more about fit than any feature table. And if either vendor won’t let you test on real data before you sign, that’s useful information too.

If you’d rather keep pricing, your property management system, and distribution under one roof, Aiosell is the simpler path, and its 15-day free trial lets you see that on real data. Duetto may suit you better if you run a casino, a large property or a team that wants deep segment control. There’s no shame in either choice. Pick the one your people will actually use every day, and make the vendor prove it on your own rooms before you sign anything.
